Around Northern Arizona, we come across a lot of these images of a deer headed figure. We asked a local gem store owner what it means. “It’s a shaman,” he says. “He always has a medicine bag around his neck to let you know that he is a medicine man.”
After doing some research, we found that people all over the world have a tradition of medicine men adorning deer heads. I always find it puzzling how people of supposedly unconnected cultures, have so many ancient traditions that are the same…
